Welcome!
Hope In Transit was formed as a means to live the love of Jesus Christ to Native America. Using music and arts as a vehicle, Hope In Transit seeks to minister to spiritual, emotional, physical, and social needs at individual, organizational, and community levels.
Hope In Transit’s primary program is a traveling music school that travels in a monthly cycle to three locations on the Navajo and White Mountain Apache reservations. We spend one week per month at each location. We teach bass, drums, keyboard, and guitar at each location. The Traveling Music School seeks to provide a healthy pastime to young people who are often in a position to choose between dangerous and self-destructive or healthy and productive behavioral patterns.
Since beginning the Traveling Music School in October of 2001, we have seen improvement in some of the students’ lives and decision making. Some have become more stable, and their school attendance has improved. We have become unofficial accountability partners for the kids, encouraging them to make good decisions, to work and study hard, and ultimately to be who they were created to be.
Thank you for stopping by, and please be sure to contact us with any questions.
